OUR CONSERVATION FOUNDATION
This year, we have decided to help support The Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization that encourages long term sustainable tourism. Each year US$1million goes towards projects around the world. This year the Foundation is undertaking six projects including a grant to Conservation International to protect three million hectares of Atlantic Forest in Brazil, recognised as one of the world’s most important and highly threatened regions for conservation. The Foundation is also working to support indigenous, sustainable tourism in Australia and funding research and restoration of important cultural and archaeological sites in Venice and Greece. Other projects include funding the development of wildlife research camps in Africa and sponsoring the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards which encourage other tourism operators to develop leading sustainable tourism enterprises.
