Day 1 USA - Warsaw:
Overnight flight to Warsaw.
In-Flight Meal Included
Day 2 Arrive Warsaw:
After arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. This evening enjoy a Welcome Reception and dinner with your Tour Director and traveling companions.

Day 3 Warsaw:
Today, our sightseeing includes Old and New Warsaw, particularly the Old Town, meticulously reconstructed from Canaletto’s painting following the wartime destruction. Our local guide explains the often-tragic history of this city as we tour the notorious Warsaw Ghetto. A special visit is made to the Historical Museum. The afternoon is at leisure to browse through treasures in the National Museum or stroll among the half-timbered buildings in the Old Quarter. This evening enjoy a concert of Chopin Music in a private palace as part of our Explore and Discover series.

Day 4 Warsaw - Auschwitz - Krakow:
We travel south to visit Czestochowa, site of the magnificent 14th-century Paulite monastery at Jasna Gora, which twice withstood the onslaught of formidable Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th-century. Since that time, its Black Madonna is revered as the “Queen of Poland” and has become the country’s national symbol. In the afternoon, we have a private guided tour of what is left of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Then, it’s on to a relaxing 2-night stay in Krakow, former capital of Poland and home to the late Pope John Paul II.

Day 5 Krakow:
Krakow’s medieval walls, churches and Jewish section of Kazimierz are all viewed on this morning’s sightseeing tour. The main attractions of this city are the cathedral and castle on Wavel Hill, which echo Poland’s royal heritage and are recognized by UNESCO as unique. There is even time to shop at the colorful Market Square! This afternoon do not miss an optional tour to the nearby salt mines.

Day 6 Krakow - Budapest:
Leaving Krakow, we cross into the heart of the mountainous and densely wooded eastern region of Slovakia. Soon, we arrive for a leisurely 2-night stay in Budapest where we enjoy an included Hungarian goulash dinner with traditional Gypsy music!

Day 7 Budapest:
The main sights of the twin cities of Buda and Pest included in our morning sightseeing tour are views of Gellert Hill, the Royal Palace and a visit to the 13th-century Church of Matthias. The rest of the day is free for shopping or a cruise on the beautiful “Blue Danube”.

Day 8 Budapest - Vienna:
We journey west through the region of Transdanubia before stopping in the town of Gyor which has retained much of its medieval flavor. Across the Austrian border to a relaxing 2-night stay in Vienna, “City of Dreams”. Tonight, why not enjoy an optional Strauss Waltz concert?

Day 9 Vienna:
Our sightseeing tour reveals both imperial and contemporary Vienna. We’ll stop for photographs at Emperor Franz Josef’s Hofburg Palace and see the Cathedral of St. Stephen and the State Opera. Then, a special included highlight visit to Schoenbrunn Palace with its magnificently preserved staterooms and exquisite gardens.

Day 10 Vienna - Cesky Krumlov - Prague:
Across the Czech border, our first stop is in medieval Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where time has stood still for centuries. Continue through the rich and historic countryside of Bohemia to the golden city of Prague for a pleasant 3-night stay.

Day 11 Prague:
Our morning sightseeing tour of beautiful Prague features Hradcany Castle, the former residence of Bohemian kings, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock. Admire the many spires and bridges from the Castle Hill. At leisure, venture out of the city to see one of the stately castles, visit a museum or shop for exquisite crystal!

Day 12 Prague:
This morning, enjoy a special Explore and Discover lecture about the “Velvet Revolution”. Learn about the many turbulent uprisings against foreign powers and the social changes in the former Czechoslovakia from our local resident expert. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore one of the most enchanting cities of Europe. Take time to admire the fairy tale architecture of this city that was once the medieval seat of the Holy Roman Empire.

Day 13 Prague - Dresden:
A short drive to Dresden, located on the Elbe River and our home for the next 2 nights. Badly damaged by Allied bombing during World War II, the city has been restored to its Baroque splendor. Our afternoon sightseeing tour includes views of the Semper Opera, the Zwinger Palace and a visit to the outstanding collection of Meissen Porcelain.

Day 14 Dresden (Hidden Germany Included):
This morning, enjoy an included excursion into “Hidden Germany” as we visit the quaint town of Bautzen. Let us show you Germany off the beaten track as you have often imagined it. Afternoon is at leisure to enjoy magnificent Dresden. In your free time, perhaps visit the newly renovated Frauenkirche, focal point of the 60th anniversary of the tragic bombing raid of 1945.

Day 15 Dresden - Berlin:
After a late morning arrival in Germany’s capital Berlin, our afternoon sightseeing tour views the Brandenburg Gate, the State Opera House, the colorful shopping and entertainment district of Kurfurstendamm and the Reichstag Building now restored to its former glory.

Days 16 Berlin:
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Berlin, former capital of Prussia and one of GET’s clients favorite destinations! Time at leisure to explore the many attractions of this once divided city such as the Check Point Charlie Museum or join an optional tour to famous Potsdam. On our last evening, enjoy a Farewell Highlight Dinner as we bid farewell to Central and Eastern Europe.
